LIGHT IN THE DARK
Sometimes ago i conducted an interview with a faith father, the CEO of TECO GROUPS and the leader of a prominent Christian fellowship in Africa, Engr. Adewolu. During the interview the man of God shared a soul lifting story that change his perspective about life and Christian ministry. I believe this story will inspire and reshape your thinking for better.
I am into engineering business. Our company is committed to raising leaders in engineering sector of economy. At least every year we send some of our outstanding staff abroad to learn more. The company took up the responsibilities of all the expenses and also increase the salary of any luck fellow. when the training is completed.
But I discovered that whenever the staff we send abroad for training returned, he also resigned. About three of such incidence happened and I was discouraged. On the day the last incidence happened I determined never to repeat it again. I said to myself no staff would be send abroad for any further training anymore.
That night I went to bed sad. Then I dreamed, I met myself inside a very thick darkness that someone can even touch. It was so dark that the little candle light in my hand has no effect on the environment.
Suddenly, someone came out of darkness walked towards my direction with candle in his hand. On getting to where I was standing he stretched forth the candle in his hand to touch my own candle light and lightened his own candle without talking to me and went away.
Another person came out of the darkness repeated the same action and when away without talking to me. Many people came out of the darkness, lightened their candle and when away. As they light their candle and went away the whole place became more brighter until everywhere was lightened up. Then I woke up.
The Lord said to me “my son, you are the light in the dark. Your assignment is to light others and keep lighting others until the world becomes brighter.”
Friend! we are the light in the dark. We are blessed with talents, gifts and materials possession for the purpose of lighten the world, meeting needs and transforming lives until the kingdom of this world becomes the kingdom of our Lord.
Lighten others would not quench your light. Helping others would not left you helpless rather it opens you up to better help from God. Whatever you make happens to other will definitely come back to you. No one makes other happy and remain sorrowful. The hands that lift others up remain up. Those that push other forward also move forward.
I pray that God will grand you understanding to key into His blessing secret and manifest His glory. And for those that already following this way of blessing, you shall not be discouraged by nonchalant attitude of people around you. You will not be tired of doing good to other in Jesus Name Amen.
